Review of the 2004 Honda VTX 1800:Reliability, Comfort, Super Fast! |

2004 VTX 1800 N. Purchase 10/05/2012 (1200 miles at the time). 15430 miles currently. Items adden: 1. Vance Hines ehhaust. 2. Clear Windshield Tall. 3. Programer. 4. Intake 5. Handle Bars. 6. Rear storage trunk | ||||||

I have been riding for 45 years. I have owned several motorcycles. This bike is the perfect combination of performance, reliability, and comfort. My wife and I usually ride together and we get 35-38 MPG. For a bike that is 15yrs old and 15K miles the only things I have had to do maintenance wise is regular oil changes (every 3K miles), and tires (as needed), spark plugs replaced 15K miles. I ran the factory tires until 2017. I changed them out because of age not tire ware. All our friends own Harleys. Even the new power plants on the 2020´s can´t keep up when under full acceleration. In my opinion Honda did a fantastic job of engineering this motorcycle, from the super smooth motor, fuel injection, liquid cooled, direct drive ( shaft drive ), to the hydraulic clutch, make riding this motorcycle effortless. The power band starts low and pulls right thru the rpm range in all the gears. No need to over rev the motor. Personally I like riding a bike that is different. We live in a part of the country where riding is very popular and the Harleys are everywhere, and every one looks the same. Thanks Honda! RH Phoenix, Az |
