The Sabre is a well designed, great handling and dependable machine. After 5 years of year-round Pacific Northwest riding, I have nothing but good things to say about it´s dependability and performance. | ||||||
I purchased my 2005 Sabre 5 years ago (2017) with 10K miles. I ride year round (Anything above 20F.) and average 5K miles per year. This bike has been absolutely excellent from day one. Zero problems aside from regular maintenance.(oil, filters, spark plugs and tires). The Sabre boasts a max payload of 392#, however mine regularly sees 500# (gear + accessories + riders) riding 2-up in the PNW mountains with no shortage of horsepower or braking. It`s low speed stability is excellent, but also loves the open road and doesn`t get bounced around in semi drafts (or intense wind storms for that matter.) Despite being very well designed/built a few items beg for a quick upgrade. The factory saddle is murder so I`d suggest upgrading to a Mustang Touring saddle. The factory headlight is so dim it`s dangerous to ride after dark. Install a good HID headlight bulb or supplemental lights asap. I`ve ridden tons of different bikes over the years. In spite of my desire to try something new I`m always happiest when I climb back on the Sabre. Plenty of power to get you out of trouble, but not enough to get you into it. You really can`t go wrong with the Sabre. |
