2007 Yamaha TTR 50 - Reliable and stout

Reliable and stout with easy to use features. The 2007 TTR 50 is extremely reliable and will last a long time when properly maintained. But it really isn´t designed to do much jumping.

The bike features a 3 speed, semi-automatic transmission with a hand operated front brake and foot operated rear brake. The bike is also equipped with electric start but no backup kick starter so keeping a good battery in is essential. A low, plush seat height paired with low, swept back bars allow for a comfortable position for some pretty small riders.

Suspension is near non-existent and does not handle jumps well for bigger kids working on learning to jump. I also had issues with mine getting the tire to stay put on the rim without spinning. This bike does not feature a rim lock and relies on grooves on the inside of the rim to provide traction for the tire on the rim. I had far too many tubes spin on the rim and tear the valve stems right off.

The TTR really isn´t designed to do much jumping and it´s shining point is it´s ability to run and run and run. Before my nephew upgraded bikes he would ride on the rev limiter in every gear and we never had an engine issue once.
