Great bike for fun and reliability. I would recommend this bike to anyone interested in getting on a sport bike and need a intro bike to see if this is the style for them.

I bought my 600 Katana brand new in July of 2001. I still have it today and it has over 64K miles on it and still runs like new. The only changes I have made are a Two Brothers slip on exhaust, K&N air filter, LED headlights, a little larger rear tire, and some fog lights for extra vision since I ride to work in the dark through the country side.

I have no major issues and very few small ones. The two biggest issues I have had is the wiring to the headlights over heats and melts the wires but just by passed the quick connect and fixed the problem. The other is the choke cable freezes up and breaks about every three years. I started keeping the bike covered all the time and I have gotten 5 years out of this last one.

It’s a great bike. It’s powerful enough and handles well enough to be fun in the twisties, but comfortable enough to ride long distance. It’s easy to work on and cheap to keep up. Tires are the most expensive up keep.
