The boot comes installed with the new stator. It slides into the hole where to old one is. Be careful when installing it. Use soapy water around the outside of the boot for ease of installation. Also, be care when installing the stator. There´s a small screw that screws into the case from inside that holds the boot in place. It´s been a while since I replaced mine so there might be two small screws. Remember, the screw(s) are usually steel. The case is aluminum. It´s extremely easy to strip the aluminum engine case when over torqueing the screws. YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT.....now do you? Didn´t think so. Good luck.
