Vibrator?

I am buying a Heritage Softail with 4200 miles, It is a gorgeous bike, but I am a little worried now because I was told that the engine was not rubber mounted or counterbalanced until 2000 and that the 1999 EVO is a vibrator and not good for long rides. I was also told it was a low geared bike with a low top end. Would appreciate any info!
