Indicator problem!!!!!

Please help!!!!!!!!!!! My rs sprint 2001 has no indicators now!!!
They packed in recently, I have led;s and recently had to rewire rear indicator as the connection broke, did that and they worked .
As i have led´s with no led relay they flash like crazy and have done for ages. Now i was told to replace relay and i think i found it under the rhs rear fairing panel, 4th plug along from rear of bike. This i have heard clicks coming form , but only 1 click once each time u press indicator to lhs, centre and rhs.
Does this mean the relay is knackered???? So i bought a 3 pin led indicator relay off ebay(the one i took out was a square unit with 3 pins, the socket it slots into actually has 4 pins but this was wokring before fine with the 3 pin unit. So now i am wondering if its shorting out ????? Fuses are all fine so i am puzzled and frustrated, any one help out there. P.s. when i fitted the new relay (a round unit) there was no click when indicators were pressed so does this mean the old realy is ok?????#
