Just got mine, after having a 1999 Thunderbird and a 2002 Thunderbird, I decided for something with less chrome to polish and fuel injection. This bike is incredible! I liked the Thunderbirds; they attract attention, even from Harley riders(!) and I rode them all over Europe. Faster than one expects with better handling and load-carrying capacity make them great all round bikes. But the RS is in another league. Now the H-D riders just write it off as a "sport-bike" and donĀ“t even give it a second look. The sport-bike riders have seldom seen one, so they are more interested suddenly... The torque, the balance, the acceleration and the braking are all excellent. The midrange is buttery smooth power available NOW! The little screen offers more protection than expected and dropped down behind it there is no wind burble and no pressure on the chest at all.....quite incredible. In Jet Black, she is a beauty and completely under-rated. If you want a great bike at a small investment, this is an under-appreciated gem! Even my wife is comforatable on the back...which is amazing! After the first ride, she said: The engine delivery is so smooth. I just smiled... (She rides a V twin....)
