Hi everyone, I´m an impoverished artist and am about to purcase a used 2002 VTX 1800. I will get it cheap: 5500 bucks. It was dumped and needs a new headlamp visor, new speedometer, and new windshield. is this a good investment? I don´t drive consistently, but like LONG trips (NY to Sturgis). I buzz around new england and would like to explore the south. I suspect that this bike might be the one I drive until I die. I want to put 100,000 miles on this %!¤ and want to know bliss. any comments? I cannot afford to make any mistakes. I am 5´10", 230, and strong as a bull. NEXT: I have seen some of these chopped a bit, and DAMN, they were HOT. I am torn between chopping and tweaking and slapping on saddle bags and hitting the road for a month. Is this bike really that versatile? thanks guys. |
