Just purchased a 1999 r 1100 rt. and took my first ride today. I was riding a yamaha yzf 600 sport bike which belongs to my son just to get my riding jollies. I have always wanted an 1100 or 1150 and finally found one with 25,000 miles that is in great condition. Now I know what a real motorcycle feels like and the comfort level is unreal. The old owner stated that the bike burns a little oil and that this is a common trait of all bmw´s. Can anyone out there back that up or did I buy a potential problem child?
