Paint in Fuel Tank

My bike shut off several times. Just stopped running. Pulling over and letting it sit for a little while, it would crank back up and go for a little while then stop again. When it stopped it gave no warning. Took it to dealer and no probelm found. Happened again. Turned out to be clogged fuel filters in tank, both primary and reserve. Cause of clog was the paint from the fill cap neck dissolving/flaking off. Second time I took it in I showed dealer where paint was coming off into the tank. "Triumph knows about that", he says, "They will pay us to clean out the tank." No recall issued. I hope no one experiances total engine shutdown while in passing situation with oncoming traffic or in a high speed turn.
