| I have a Suzuki GSX 1100 G, it´s a 91 model. Fast but heavy. Problems I have run into involve, accessories, Engnie, and fork. Finding acessories for the G is hard, Suzuki didnt make much for it and almost anything bought aftermarket must be modified in one way or another. The engine is sound, however, if you have an older modle in a we climate, corosion takes it´s toll, the head is aluminum, the spark plugs are steel, so far I have blown 2 plugs out of the head and had to helicoil them back in. In colder climates the bike needs alot of time to warm up before you try to put it in gear. It´s also a fuel hog. My fork after 3 years needed it´s seales replaced, not a cheap endevour. All this aside, the G is a great bike, it handels as well two up as single and will go through anything, with the tourmaster soft saddle bags, tail bag, and tank bag I can carry as much as a small 2 door in cargo with a passenger yet still not feel weighted down or cramped. This bike is never at a loss for power, and is great fun.. I would rate it a 80 on the fun scale, if you like to work on motorcycles as much as rideing them I would bump that nuber to a 95 or 100. PS it is 750lbs dry, if you plan on rideing twisty turny roads, plan on going slow, it´s weight makes it likely to break traction in a hard corner. |
