Bought my 86 GT (bare bones model) in 91, and even with 3 brothers riding Harleys, haven´t had desire to ride anything else. Just rode bike north from Viera, FL (near Cape Canaveral) to upstate NY, north of Albany, last weekend, and just hit 20k miles on the trip. 4 day trip included one day in rain, rear flat tire, transmission refused to shift, lost all dashboard power incl speedometer and odometer, and front end sway. Other than that, fabulous ride and a great experience.

Retired USAF and Air National Guard Colonel, and finally retired from full-time employment after 8 years working at Andrews AFB as civilian. Returned to upstate NY and hope to now bring bike back to fully operational status. Hope to find some solutions within this forum and maybe can offer a suggestion or two, although I´m a relative rookie in the maintenance business. However, I did stay at a Holiday Inn express on my ride back to NY, so maybe that counts for something.
