Hi, I have a 2010 883xl sportster custom. The bike has developed a bit of a tank slapper when the speed is between 40-50 mph. This started after an accident when I hit a bike in front and the wheel rim got a v crease in it. I took it to a wheel repair firm who did a reasonable job but you can still see a slight distortion to the wheel but only slight. New tyre fitted and the tank slapper occurs whether the wheel was unbalanced or balanced. When I try the balancing myself it looks as though it is balanced and therefore there is now no weights on the wheel at all. Is the problem likely to be the wheel only, if so any ideas where I can get a new wheel. Could the forks have been bent, if so is there a way to definitively confirm that. I have been told to turn the forks 180 degrees and if there was a slight bend this would cure it. As you may deduce from my questions I am not technically savvy on these issues. Any advice appreciated.
