Dear Fellow Riders, I owned a 1977 T140J Bonneville Silver Jubilee, bought BRAND NEW January 2, 1978 since I talked the Price Down 600 Bucks and as a Graduate Student, Money WAS and Still Is TIGHT! I Just bought a BRAND NEW 2009 Triumph Bonneville SE (Black) with 1 Km. on the Clock for over 1000 Bucks off of the 2011 Bonneville SE (Black), with a Luggage Rack bartered for. I First fell in Love at the Montreal Bike Show. My Old Triumph was in the Shop 6 times for Electrical and Clutch Problems. Are those Old Lucas Prince Of Darkness problems behind me as I re-join 23 years after my last bike (1978 Yamaha 650 Twin which got me Vancouver to Montreal, and two years riding after in both Montreal and Toronto.)I bought the Yamaha 650 for Reliability and Performance. Very Good Bike BUT I ALWAYS Loved My Triumph more. I am going to finish my Cross-Canada Tour to the Northern Tip of Newfoundland this August, 23 years after I began the Journey, on My Brand-New Triumph Bonneville. Wish me Luck. I am enrolled in two Intensive 4 Hour REFRESHER Courses on Emergency Braking, Avoidance Procedures, Counter-Steering and Counter-Weighting in tight SLOW corners. At 57, I FULLY INTEND on being a Grand-Dad! Any Advice is appreciated. Thanks to All. I ONLY have had 2 chances yet to Ride Nelley Mae, Named after my Maternal Grand-Mum who RODE with my Mom and Gramps on his 1919 Harley-Davidson with a Sidecar. I have a picture of that Great Old Bike complete with pedals. Before Jack passed on, he had owned Triumphs, AJS, BSA, 1919 Harley and an Ariel Square Four. He Rode until he was 76 years Old in NottingHam, England when they pulled his Licence telling him that MotorCycling was a Young Mans Sport and he Replied to THEM, that It Makes Me FEEL YOUNG!! Best to All, Sherlock Bones XOXOXOXO
