Hello all, just recently purchased an ´85 XJ700. First motorcycle ever so I´m not sure if its normal because of the age of the motorcycle or what, but whenever I start laying into it, once I reach high rpms (~7500-8000rpm) and go to shift the shifter almost feels clunky. That´s the best way to describe it. Should I be worried about pushing the bike too hard or is this normal on these bikes? Maybe I´m not putting the clutch in all the way or something? Not really sure but being my first bike I don´t wanna blow it up or break it shortly after buying it.
The gentleman I bought it from was the 2nd owner and the bike was well maintaine and taken care of. Just rolled over 35k miles on it. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
