You don´t need a new tank, buy a quart of red kote. Slosh a chain around in there to break up the rust, rinse the tank, seal with the red kote. The tank will never leak again, and the red coat can fill small holes. If you are dealing with minor surface rust, use Wizards rust remover. Slosh that around in the tank and let it soak. After a while of soaking, you will have brand-new looking metal inside. Not a spot of rust, guaranteed. Don´t forget to replace or rebuild your petcock.
