First if you have the original petcock make sure it is in the prime position until you get it running. After that move to the run position. I´m good with shooting a little starting fluid or carb cleaner down the throat of the carbs and see if it kicks on over. If it does you still have some trash in the fuel system most likely. My tank was gone (rusted out) when I got my bike. I used a plastic lawnmower gas tank to get it running. I since used kreem tank liner kit to clean the tank and coat it and sealed some pin holes which were in it. No problems now. I had no petcock so I pulled one off of my TW200, it fit so I ordered another one for about $20.00 and it works fine other than it is totally manual and the reserve isn´t correct. I don´t take chances now, I turn the fuel off every time I kill the engine. I have had needle valves leaking before my carb overhaul and flushed my engine oil out with gasoline a couple of times. Lesson learned.
