86 Yamaha YX 600 Radian discussion forum:got it cheap! |

| Hey guys and gals , a buddy of mine just picked up a yx600 for $200. It´s banged up but for the price its was hard to pass up. We are running in to some problems getting it to start. But first ill tell you what we have done so far. Took and cleaned the surprisingly already clean carbs, replaced the bad fuses, new sparkplugs, and rebuilt the petcock. When we turn it over the starter makes a racket almost like its dry, and makes a loud squawking sound. The bike gets so close to starting, it will start coughing smoke then just give up. We start with good spark to nothing. The battery is brand new. I was thinking bad wiring or a bad ignition control module. We are doing a full wire clean tomorrow. What do you think? Are we on the right track? Any advice or other things you think we should check would be incredibly helpful. Thanks |
