The cheecky way is to drop a bigger engine in the frame & regester it as a 250 but if you want to keep it as a 250 polish the ports up jet the carbs change & the air filter. If u want top end speed reduce the sprocket size on the rear but you will loose out mid range + lower end exelleration & viser verser wheelie machine rapid on take off increase the sprocket size on the rear but reduce it on the front.(basic machanics )hope this helps middle of the road is often better.
