Dont know about your lower part of engine. Ticking usually comes from the valve area . Even hydraulic valves can tick if they are out of wack. I have an 83 Shadow 750 and my little bit of ticking is said to be inherent honda noise and not to worry about it. 4 mechanics have listened to it and said dont worry about it. Yours however is coming from another area. Wait till it breaks IF it does than fix it. If not just live with it.
