Hi. I´m french and my english is not very good, but I try to answer at your question.
If I anderstand, your machine have a pb with the starter.
Don´t worry. I must start my machine without starter (engine cold). If I use some, it don´t start. So I start up like this and it work. when the engine run on it´s own but not regulary, I use some starter (half opened) to warm a few minutes the engine.
without nothing, the speed goes up slowly, then take of the starter.
