I just bouhght an 83 shadow and I hear from people that the clutch is a problem many times. Is this true, and is there any way that something like this could be changed by putting in another kind or type of clutch? Oh, and for guys that have a older shadow like this, if you wanna know why it somtimes makes a clicking noise while running, I will try explain what it is: there is a timing chain that goes around the spark plug, ok, this has a tightener and around that area there is supposed to be a one way spring that holds the tightener in place. But here is the clacking reason: the spring sometimes sticks and thereby causing the tightener to bang against the sleeeve of the spark plug. If it seems to be real bad, you will see oil coming out of the spark plug hole, which means that the sleeve is damaged by the continous clacking of the tightener..Ok, maybe you guy already know this, but just to try to be a help.
