Brett - Regarding the panniers. I´ve just returned from a trip from San Diego up the coast of California using the ST´s hard bags. While they look great...they have two serious issues. The closure system is difficult to use and not very positive. Complicating the already weak closure system is the effect of wind on the bags. The outside shell deflects in wind speeds as low as 50mph causing a seperation of the seal. I worked with the system and found that nothing worked. I think they will be useful only for carrying cotton balls on slow speed runs! The rest of the bike is, well, perfect. I do have the heat issues only when the ambient temperatures are very high. Some heat from the seat, more heat from the sides. |
