Rear spring modification for short & low weigh rider

I do enduro/trail riding (amateur), my weigh (without gear) is 145 lbs (66 kg) and I´m only 5´4" tall. I thought the 8.5-250 rear spring was too hard and too high, thus, I purchased (but haven´t received yet) a Titanium 84-240. Do you think I made the right purchase? Is it going to be softer and lower?? Or should I have gone for a different ratio and lenght??
