I have owned a Ducati Monster 620 for 2 months. A short time but enough to know it is quite a motorcycle. Having owned several Hondas in the past, this is a new experience in riding that is hard to describe other than it is a "Ducati". I like the handling and the power for a bike in its class. Living in the Philippines I find more twisty roads and back roads than straight-aways, so anything more powerful for me would really be a waste. One particular thing I am noticing is it just loves speed. Slow it down in town driving and it tends to lug a little, but shifting down a gear always solves that small "problem". I do have one question concerning the tires that come stock on this bike. The rear tires are 160/60 ZR17s. I want to know if replacing that with a 170/60 ZR17 would create a problem of any kind. Would it fit right, etc.? And would it affect the handling? As for styling and performance enhancements. I have not made any changes and don´t plan on any for now. A lot of Ducati Monsters have modified exhausts, but I kind of like the natural sound of the V-twin. If you get up to a fairly high speed on an open road, the stock exhausts seem to turn up the volume just enough, for me. But, one last comment. This is my first Ducati, but certainly NOT my last. I enjoy this motorcycle more the longer I own it, and I don´t expect that to change. W.S) |
