Hi, I am now on my 17th bike, a 2005 VTX 1800. This is the second cruiser which I have owned with the rest of my bikes all being race and sport bikes. I know where you are coming from with the weight. When I first sat on the VTX 1800, I could not believe what it took to get off the stand. lol. (I am 5`6`` and about 180lbs.) That`s only because I am so used to those track ready race bikes which are half the weight. You know what, I am used to it now and it`s nothing. Sit on some Harleys and other bikes and they are heavy also, if not heavier. You can`t just look at the weight but see how the weight is distributed on the bike. Is it top heavy. You have to see for yourself. When moving the bike handles great. It just gets a little harder when you are going 5 kms or less. I go 2up almost all of the time and it pulls like a freight train with my wife on the back even up hills. I love my VTX and I am a Honda man. Great power, incredible breaks and amazing looks. You will get used to the weight. Trust me. Nad motorcyclemadman1000 at hotmail.com
