TDM 900 Cooling System

Bike - TDM 900 2005
After striping the cooling system to access the tappets I now have a problem.

The bike runs at the normal temperature; the fan starts at the correct temperature. But when idling at a standstill it pumps coolant out of the reservoir drain before it reaches the fan start temperature. It does not appear to be boiling.

I´ve checked for blockages/air locks, calibrated temperature sensor and thermostat. All OK.

Can anyone help? Who´s had a similar problem?
