Hi, I´ve recently bought a 2005 R1 and I´m happy with it because its an awesome sports bike but it user friendly as well. My previous bike was a GSXR 1000 K4 which had a harsh ride and the seating position had you just about holding the front axle. The R1 has a great riding position and you dont get sore arms riding it. The power delivery is also smooth at low revs on the R1 which gives you confidence. Try to sit on both bikes and evaluate them and you´ll soon find the one you like most. If you can get a test ride on both bikes, that will show you more and then you will make a better choice. I have heard the Honda is a harsh ride.
