I am a V MAX FREAK! I also have a 2005 V MAX, 5th V MAX to date. I have learned from all previous V MAX´s, that the engine guards work excellent as highway foot rest if you put a small strip of anti skid tape on the bars to keep your feet from sliding. On the matter of a seat, replace it with a CORBIN. You will thank me after a long ride. The CORBIN is firmer and wider. You won´t feel like you are falling in the seat. Dave
