No probs. Previous owner may have never oiled the cables, so friction damage would break them, or yanking open the throttle a lot. If the bike is 1999, 2000, 2001 or 2002 you should buy the new updated starter motor for it (search for 5EL-81890-01-00 on ebay.. must be the -01 version!!!) as the stock starter motor on 99-02 models has incorrect torque limit setting, so basically over time the engine kickback on shutdown f**ks up your starter clutch. And the starter clutch will cost you more if you wait until that is ruined... plus it will go again and again unless you replace the starter motor with the new version. The new version has a lower torque limit setting so it allows better for this engine kickback. Google v star starter clutch problem and you´ll see :-) |
