I´ve got a 1700 road star also and really like it. At first it took a little getting use to but hey what doesn´t .Besides I couldn´t afford a Harley. So you do what you can with what you have, works for me. I am having a problem with the bike not wanting to idle ,more so when it is cold. I have to run the chike just about all the way out when it is cold and even after it is warmed up ,the choke is out a good bit.. The bike is a 2005 with about nine thousand miles on it. I bought it second hand in August of this year and ride it everyday I can and at least one trip a week about 120 miles ( round trip ) more or less. Also I am not a mechanic and this is my first bike in a long ,long tome. Any and all information will be much appreciated. Thanks, Tom B.
