Which dealer is legit?

I bought my 2006 new from a dealer on impulse. The dealer much closer to my home tells me the initial service interval (600 miles) is no big deal, basic oil change etc. The original dealer wants $300 plus the cost of oil and filter. Which is Legit? If valve adjustment is a normal requirement I sure don´t want to omit something vitally important. Any Help?? Thanks
