i personally think you should go ktm, but i am biast as i own an SMC. I also have had experience with the FSE650 and although they are a lovely bike, beutiful lines and very minamilist, they tend to need a bit of attention. If your not a mechanic or mechanically minded id go ktm. The 625 smc is a 640 LC4 with no starter motor, bigger carb, yada yada yada, not sure what kind of horse power they make but better than there more road orientated brothers. The 660 i believe is a new motor, not just the 640 bored and stoked. Hit the KTM website and it gives you all the palava. 660 is about 130 kgs dry and id rekon that the 625 may be under that so wheather the less weight makes up for a slight lack of HP on the 660, who knows. Ive had to replace the right hand radiator twice, the cores split internally. I had a radiator guy say it because of sitting for a while in the crates at the factory etc and the glycol seperates from the water and eats the core away. That explained the first one but not the second one, replaced the cap on the second one and have had no trouble
