Soft tail suspensions are pretty hard anyhow, but the front suspension on the Deuce are horrible. The closest match is a night train, but the night train suspension is fine. The DIFFERENCE is the deuce has a frame rake that is more pronounced. Progressive does not help much. The problem is not compression of the fork tubes-this happens-but the fork tubes are too extended to actually dampen the jolt enough to make the ride comfortable. Solutions would include triple trees that decrease the GAIN from the rake, which would bring the tubes and front wheel closer to the bikes frame. Possibly a springer front end could help, or a girder style front end.
