I want an ATK 600 DTM to use on the street but I haven´t found any dealers or bikes in my area. I came across a 2002 Kawasaki KLR 650 with less than 2000 miles for $4,195.oo. I haven´t bought the bike yet because I normally stick to American products with the exception of BMW as my only other than American and favorite motorcycle. I go back and forth between the new BMW F650 CS and the ATK 600 DTM in my choices of a new bike because of the Rotax engines and dependability. I just don´t know if I should give in for less such as the Kawasaki KLR 650. I have never been a fan of Japan´s bikes because of their way less than 150,000 mile life expectancy and undependability. Very rare to see or hear of a bike from Japan reaching 50,000 miles. If I get the Kawasaki or any other bike from Japan how can I keep it in good use for many years of riding pleasure? Will there be parts for it when it is ten or fifteen years old?
