There were some unusual shapes to some of the letters and numbers used to stamp the vin# into the frame and motor the 8 was shaped like an hourglass, like one triangle point down on top of a triangle pointed up, you cant miss it once you´ve seen it. This was to prevent stolen bikes from being re stamped and sold.
