You´ve probably figured it out by now but. the oil vent line originally tied into the carb mounting bracket. A polution control feature. Alot of people, myself included, rerouted that vent line to an aftermarket vent filter that could be mounted pretty much anywhere you wanted to bolt it on. other folks just ran the vent line under the engine and tied it off so it wouldn´t flop around.
