Matchless History

The British manufacturer Matchless was founded in 1899 and located in Plumstead, South London. Well-known for V-twins in the 1910's and the later G singles, production kept on until 1966. Matchless bought several smaller brands, like Sunbeam and AJS, and switched name to AMC (Associated Motor Cycles), and was bought by Norton in 1952.
