2006 Triumph Tiger review:tiger 955i |
Review of the Tiger submitted on 2013-10-14. This 955i 2006 has been a dream bike for m, except the height of seat, too high for me inseam 31. Replaced rear shock with a Dollars 350 shorter one, there is no other option to lower this 955i unless you put on 1-1/12 inch boots.. which i wear as well. This Tiger has been serviced once by the dealer at 2K miles. the rest is me and simple. Oil changes lubing cables chain etc.. easy. Got 9K miles on it since 2006. Added center stand, german made low profile engine guards. I added soft grips, I mean soft spongie grips and it was a plus, raised the handlebars 1´ and lowered the forks 1´ as well. I had never had anything go wrong or have to fix anything on this bike. Thinking of adding a newer model Tiger1050 2007-09 due to a weight reduction, slightly more torque and capabilities of lowering even a lower bike to start with. Keeping this one for a few months during the transition to the 1050, to be sure I like the newer one more. Hard to get rid of this bike. Not one repair except new batteries (2 so far). Smooth shifting and nice front breaking helps this 500+LBS wet bike come to a halt quick. Nice sound with the off road exhaust from Triumph. A real nice bike to own and named by a magazine last month as the best used bike to own. Bikez certainly helped in picking most of my bikes by having so much info on all of them. A Tiger 955i is the ticket for a different look bike and reliability. This review of the 2006 Triumph Tiger was submitted by: Jay Maya ![]() |
