Review of the 2006 Suzuki Boulevard S40:

Big single cylinder = big, big, fun.

The S-40 is a clean good looking bike. Plenty of power in the low and mid ranges makes it great for around town and back roads cruising.

The bike recieves alot of attention riding around town. With the low weight it handles nicely and responds well, including having a passenger on board. The bike is nice and stable at highway speeds of 55-65mph, although starts to feel a bit uncomfortable over 70mph on my stock bike. Fuel consumption averages about 50mpg. My only complaint about the bike so far is the front brake which can be a little noisy, but functions well. Some complain about the light backfiring during decompression and when shutting the bike down, but from the sources I read this is normal for a large, carburated, single cylinder as long as it´s not excessive, which mine isn´t. I believe it adds character to the kind of bike this is. At 5´9´ and 215lbs, I come from a long background of off-road and dual-purpose riding. I couldn´t be happier with my Boulevard S-40.
