After 8 years dreamin of riding again I finally did it.

The 05 Sabre not only looks hot, it rides like a dream. I took an 8 year walk after gettting married and selling my last bike. She finally gave the go ahead for my 40th and I bought this bike. I thought it would be difficult to get back in to it, but the Sabre makes it easy. A strong engine, smooth transmission and comfy seat make for pure riding pleasure. I have added several items to my shadow. Functionally, I have added a wind screen and light bar, a Lindby highway bar/foot rest, vista-cruiser throttle lock, saddle bags, back rest with a small bag, and leather tank tux with another small bag. Cosmetically, I added a flamed radiator cover, license plate fram, and inspection sticker bracket, and chromed drive shaft cover. Of course you could say all the functional things are cosemtic as well as they look great too. I only use this for recreational riding. A half hour ride on this after a long day´s work is pure two wheeled therapy. I have taken her on one long ride - from the DC area to Charlotte, NC. With the wind screen I was hitting the reserve at about 120 miles. I got far better mileage before the wind screen but I wouldn´t do a long road trip without it. This bike offers you no surprises in your ride, the only surprise is from others who ask where you got the custom flame job done when they hear it is a factory job. Getting her ready for much more time in the saddle. I think I will be riding this bike for many years to come! | |
