My last bike and one of the best!
| |
|
I learned on a Harley 61 in 1947. My first bike was a 1948 BSA 500cc Star Twin. Owned at least a dozen bikes until a train wreck ended my riding in ´78. At that time I owned a Yamaha DT1 for the dirt (mainly Baja) and the XS360 for the pavement. The XS360 was a wonderful motorcycle. So smooth and powerful for its size and so very inexpensive. I paid 1400 1948 dollars for the BSA and an amazing 1200 1977 dollars for the XS360! In ´48 a Mcdonalds hamburger cost 15 cents. I don´t remember the ´48 price but inflation had kicked it up a long ways. | |
