I have been riding since I was 14 years old and raced moto-cross a little and have commuted on a motorcycle for 15 years. I cut my teeth on a 650 BSA GoldStar back in 1968. | ||||||
This 650 twin was to me a breat big let down. Sure you see all the stunt riders using this bike to do wheelies and spin brodies etc... but those guys are class clowns who have been to stunt clown school. This bike is no where near as good as the old BSA 650 GoldStar and no comparison to a Harley XR 750. To make a long story short. This bike can go on pavement only and there is no way it will climb hills, go cow trailing or heck...this bike wont even go over the freakinĀ“ beech sand. It might look great and be a good machine for commuting on the freeway or running laps around Sears Point, but for all around versatility I flunk it. An old Yamaha 650 Heritage WILL go off road with the some of the best (and worst) singles out there. This SV650 just dont have it. Not the kind of bike you ride in a relaxed position with no hands. My wrists hurt after a half hour of riding it and I ride my Harley everyday. |
