Ridden 3000 kms so far. Second owner and bought from dealership. Runs the semi-ok Dunlop D404s. Will switch to Pirelli Night Dragons in the future. Previous versions of this bike are the Marauder, Volusia and the engine started out as the Intruder 750. | ||||||
Engine is great. Regardless of how much power you think it has or wish it had. Its a cruiser not a sport bike. Problem 1: Seat. Still has the torture device found on the earlier Marauder. The "lump" as they call it. Solution 1: Replace seat with aftermarket. Use an Airhawk etc. Don`t waste your time trying to de-lump it. Problem 2: Brakes. Rear drum ok front disc ok. Solution 2: Replace fluid, pads and brake line with aftermarket. Galfer Roadsport pads are great. Also, use S.P.A. adapter kit to fit a 4 piston Nissin caliper and change master cylinder out for M109 version. Problem 3: Gearing. Although not a real issue. You can swap out the final drive with the Intruder 1400 one. Not a direct swap, but google it. Reduces RPM by 600. Overall, great fuel economy. Handles better than the Marauder ever could. Gauge features CLOCK!!! dual trip and odometer. Fuel gauge also. Range on tank is 300+ kms on a steady cruise. No need to try and get more power from it.. too much money vs return. If you want the faster one.. its called the M109R. |
