Review of the 2013 LML Star 150 2S:Poor Build Quality and No Suspension |

Nerve-wrecking to ride, deadly in the wind or behind a truck. I bought this scooter new in 2014. Quite frankly, I do not enjoy riding THIS scooter and the build quality and factory QC seem to be extremely poor. | ||||||

Faults: 1. From Day 1 I had a serious brake shudder (later found that the radius of the shoes was smaller than that of the drums). 2. After 80 km the thing stopped idling (dirt in carburetor). 3. The non-existent suspension has been a nightmare (shocks are not absorbed, the rider ends up taking the full knock - this can be deadly if one is caught unawares). 4. Black oil has been pouring onto the floor from Day 1 (took the tank out, checked below the oil reservoir, found lots of oil, HOWEVER, the oil is black while the initial 2-stroke oil was green and the current 2-stroke oil is red (there are no leaks from the oil reservoir). It also can´t be leaking out the gearbox/casing because that oil is also red. I´m left wondering how black oil got into the chassis if none of the potential oil sources are black. Quite frankly, I do not enjoy riding THIS scooter and the build quality and factory QC seem to be extremely poor. I´ve owned several older 1960s Vespas and also a 1958 NSU Prima, they never had any of the above issues. |
