Review of the 1996 Kawasaki GPZ 500 S:

Kawasaki GPZ 500 - Superb Mid Range Bike

GPZ500s a great mid range bike for those who want a larger bike, but don´t want to hop on a 750+. I used a GPZ500s when it 1st came out as a despatch rider in London. Agile and easy to throw around and nip into spaces where other bikes could not go.

Just got back to riding, so I was hunting for a GPZ that had not been thrashed or despatched, not an easy task.

The engine is virtually bullet proof, provided it´s kept serviced. Light and very agile. Although it´s not quite as stylish as modern bikes it still holds it own. The only down point is the top gear end. The gearbox seriously needs a larger 6th gear as it still wants to pull more in top, but you could end up red lining it. Damn good bike.
