Honda Sabre with too many issues first year

The Sabre I rode to Los Angeles in ´83, no issues...one other issue the Sabre had over the Magna,...the Sabre has the regulator/rectifier under the seat, whereas the Magna has the regulator/rectifier on the left side with n the airflow...this reason for the regulator/rectifier was under the seat is because Honda instead put in an alarm system which used a cable...the issue here was that in the early morning hours when I got off work and fired the Sabre up, smoke would come out from under the seat because moisture would get into the regulator/rectifier connector and melt the plastic connector..the dealer cut off the connectors and used bullet connectors in their place, still, moisture was an issue, the third time into the dealer they just soldered the connections, all these issues were reported to Honda Calif., 

There was a suspension issue as well, which was never settled and I just traded the bike in for the Magna, an issue with the Magna were the cams, they would pit...a year after I traded in the Magna I saw it at another dealer, the owner was telling me they couldn´t get the carbs to sync due to pitted cams, I traded that bike in with just over 8,000 miles and the new owner had put on just a few hundred miles.
