Review of the 1996 Honda Magna VF750C:Honda Magna - Versatile and fun |
1996 Honda Magna VF750C. Luke Larson.
Easy and fun, mostly. Have owned mine over 2 years and rode it 11,000 miles. I love its handling, acceleration, relatively light weight, and looks. I also appreciate the low seat height, so easy in so many ways, for instance backing up in tight quarters. Plenty of passing power even for 2 up riding. I love it being a low tech bike, just the basics. | ||
One problem is startup, with the 4 carbs I am used to hard starting even in warm or moderate weather and even after tuneup, have an appt set for my mechanic to look into this. Also gas tank on the small size. Overall very confidence inspiring and fun. Mine has custom seat, windshield and saddlebags so basically it will serve just fine either on day trips or when you want to be touring for weeks at a time. Off paved roads though not designed for this if road not to rough it will do ok because low seat height allows you to put your foot down. I have dropped it only once on very slippery and wet speed bump , once in 2 years works for me. Glad I installed side guards, saved me from getting hurt. Previous owner didn´t have those and broke his leg when he dropped it. |
