This LAMs (learned Approved Motorcycle) Australia was an absolutely fabulous machine to learn on and develop rider skills for the road. Beautifully made fun and very fast. Totally reliable and predictable.

I used my bike to regularly commute from the country into Canberra, long rides across the Hay Plains to Adelaide and to explore the best Bear routes across Australia from Batemans Bay to Mt Springbrook Queensland, to the Chain of Ponds in South Australia.

My touring involved a light backpack. My likes, that great free reving engine which would above 6000 rpm blast away with the VTEC engine. I also fitted a Stain tune muffler which made it sound magnificent. The brakes were powerful and helped me dodge roos!

My dislikes; the damned seat, the pain still lingers seared into my spine. I did some long day 800k plus and memorable. Put up with it because the rest was so good. Panniers are a must, but not readily available. Rear rack a good idea but I hated the looks! Pillion just okay, but dive on braking put too much pressure on my wrists. Brakes only adequate with pillion.

Handling was fine but a little soft. Great engine and gearbox. No heated grips. Totally reliable and predictable. Smooth to ride. My current ride is a BMW R1200R it is much more comfortable less tiring and faster, but obviously much bigger and not LAMs approved. Would love buy one again as second fun bike. Safe and I think much better made than most bikes. Expensive for a 400 cc bike
